Every major bank in the U.S. has now ruled out financing oil and gas exploration in the Arctic after Bank of America became the latest American financial institution to say it would not fund such projects. The bank has faced increasing pressure from environmentalists to refrain from financing fossil fuel exploration in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) due to the potential impact on the indigenous Gwich’in people and endangered species such as polar bears.

London's homeless offered two-week stay in hotels over Christmas

Homelessness charity Crisis has paid for 517 hotel rooms at four London hotels which were provided by London Hotel Group for cheaper rates. They will house rough sleepers over Christmas.

France denounced a tweet by Pakistan's human rights minister on Saturday, which compared President Emmanuel Macron's treatment of Muslims to the way Jews were treated by Nazis in World War II. North Korea turns down $11 million of food aid from South

North Korea has rejected South Korean food assistance through the World Food Program, according to a South Korean press report. Donga Ilbo reported Monday Pyongyang recently turned down a South Korea-funded donation of 50,000 tons of rice. Seoul's unification ministry is also planning to recover the cost of the project, or $11.77 million, from the U.N. agency, the report said.
