Shock as BBC wrongly announces death of Radio 2 presenter Brian Matthew

The BBC reported earlier today that veteran BBC broadcaster Brian Matthew had died aged 88. However, the broadcaster has now been forced to put out a correction after it was found that the presenter, who hosted Sounds of the 60s on BBC Radio 2, was not in fact dead. The BBC tweeted from their Breaking News feed: "BBC Radio 2 broadcaster Brian Matthew is not dead but critically ill, station clarifies after announcing his death".
