Bernie Sanders Co-Sponsors Bill To Ban Factory Farming

Former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has voiced his support for the end of factory farming. Democrat Sanders — who serves as a senator in Vermont — has co-signed a bill to ban factory farming by 2040. The bill — known as the Farm System Reform Act (FSRA) — was introduced by vegan politician Cory Booker last year. The legislation proposes that new factory farms are prohibited from opening, and that large-scale farming operations are gradually phased out. The FSRA would also hold meat producers to account for the damage they cause to the environment.
